You don’t have to be an award-winning pop star to know the stress of trying to achieve your perfect look with cosmetics. “Glamming up” is a labor of love, but one that is far too often stressful, difficult, and rarely manages to live up to our expectations. Luckily for these big-name stars, professional stylists were able to help them perfect looks for the 2020 Grammy Awards Red Carpet that had heads turning and have kept people since. In the absence of professional stylists of our own, let’s live vicariously through these celebs, as we present four of our very favorite “looks” from this year’s Grammy Awards:
Bebe Rexha
Bebe Rexha decided to partner up with Buxom Cosmetics for this 2020 Grammys makeup look. Labeling this look as “Chic Boss Babe”, her stylist, Ash K. Holm, emphasized a desire to keep the finished product, “young and fun, like her.” To get Rexha’s effortless wing and eyeshadow look, Holm used Buxom’s Boss Babe Betty Eyeshadow Palette, using the Unapologetic shade on a wet angled brush to achieve the wing.
Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato’s makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, decided to go with the brand Yves Saint Laurent to complete this beauty’s look. They needed something that was going to look perfect and stay throughout the day as well as through her very emotional performance. Among the products at didn’t budge was the All Hours Foundation, Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick, and Volume Effect Cils Mascara.
Lizzo
To achieve an award-winning (literally!) look, Lizzo and her make-up artist, Alexx Mayo, wanted to go for something “luminous.” Mayo decided to focus on a natural, healthy, glowing look. To achieve this glow, Mayo chose a very dewy foundation, the Urban Decay Stay Naked Weightless Foundation. The results? They speak for themselves.
Billy Porter
Billy Porter’s makeup look was a definite show-stopper, to say the least. If you’re looking for an out-of-the-box idea, then wow. Look no further! Porter’s makeup artist, Christine Nelli, decided to go with a bold cat eye to complete this fierce look. Nelli also used Smashbox’s Cover Shot Eye Palette in Bold Glitter, as well as in Denim to create the iconic look that truly had everyone talking this week.
