The Glow of New York Fashion Week!
By: Tahiry Sanchez

One last hurrah before the fall festivities come, a celebration of summer in one of the world’s most beautiful cities, and this season we’re really, back. As a result, you can learn all there is to know about the makeup of the most intriguing collections from NYFW SS23. Let’s get started!

As always, the greatest source of beauty inspiration is New York Fashion Week. Although clothing is always the main attraction during a runway show, makeup, hair, and nails really capture our attention. Every season, the cutting-edge looks that beauty experts create backstage captivate us. The spring/summer 2023 fashion shows have so far provided us with a wealth of noteworthy trends to consider.

Beauty boldly took center stage, from Alice + Olivia’s aggressive eye look in teaching us how to play with color, to the thick smoky eyelashes at Tommy Hilfiger. We offer everything you require, whether you want to change up your routine or just enjoy the grandeur of NYFW.

Alice + Olivia’s striking eye look demonstrated to us how to creatively play with color and shape. MUAs used Arbonne products to prepare the eye region before using Too Faced to make the gorgeous bubble-shaped shadow. The standout item was the Killer Liner ($23) from the company. The section below is a list of the season’s top trends.

Oversized cat eyes are taking a comeback. We’ve seen this daring style on runways like Jason Wu’s NYFW show and Tommy Hilfiger. Irina Shayk wore it to the Venice Film Festival this month, so it’s already gaining traction. Makeup artist Diane Kendal is one of the many artists who has given us this look. She created the look with Jason Wu Beauty, of course. Solid black The Jewel Stick ($16), was used on this look.

Another great makeup fashion style we saw was blush belongs everywhere. Draped blush made an appearance on quite a few runways. Smash box created a striking look for one of the shows using the brand’s new Halo Sheer to Stay Color Tint ($28). With an application, the “Blush” shade to the cheeks, bringing the pigment up to the middle of the brow. It was a show-stopping moment to see the varsity.

As we continue speaking about the esthetic to blush creativity, there were also pink draping accents at ALIÉTTE. The show’s glam was created by celebrity makeup artist Keita Moore and Global Director of Artistry & Education Nick Lujan of Kevyn Aucoin Beauty. The draping effect was achieved by applying Kevyn Aucoin’s The Neo-Blush ($38) in “Sunset” around the cheekbones to provide a glowy appearance.
