The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706) held their 2024 MUAHS Guild Awards, presented by Ardell and Eminence Organic Skin Care and many others on Sunday, February 18th, 2024. Celebrating their 11th Anniversary, winners were honored at the awards gala, hosted by actress Melissa Peterman, at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. The MUAHS Awards represent a spectrum of outstanding achievements in make-up and hair styling artistry in motion pictures, television, commercials, and live theater.

Actress and comedian Melissa Peterman, known for portraying ‘Barbra Jean’ on the television series “Reba” and currently on CBS #1 Comedy “Young Sheldon” as ‘Brenda Sparks,’ returned as host of the awards gala. The MUAHS Awards occurred before a sold-out audience of more than 850, including guild members, industry executives, and the press. TV personality and professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy (“Dancing with the Stars”) hosted the red carpet pre-show. Julie Socash, Local 706 President, presided over the awards ceremony.

Michael Westmore, accepted the Vanguard Award

Recognized artists at the event include Michael Westmore, Oscar- and Emmy-winning make-up artist known for his iconic work on Rocky, Star Trek, Mask, Raging Bull, and the Star Trek series, who was honored with the esteemed Vanguard Award. Kevin Haney, Oscar- and Emmy-winning make-up artist best known for his work on Driving Miss Daisy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Hocus Pocus 2 was the Lifetime Achievement honoree for make-up artistry. Ora T. Green, an Emmy-nominated hairstylist known for her work on Star Trek: Nemesis, Blade, and Good Times, received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for hair styling. In addition, other celebrities who attended included Martin Short, Melissa Peterman, Val Chmerkovskiy, Rachel Harris, Cheryl Hines, John Brotherton, Maria Gibbs, LaVar Burton, Terry Farrell, Jenna Johnson, Kate Linder, Lacretta, Nyambi Nyambi, Tom Payne, Andrea Savage, Helena-Alexis Seymour, Mayan Lopez. Diana Nyadand many others.
