QMS Medicosmetics is a German skincare company, with unique origins in the medical industry. Now, they are launching in the States, and to say they hit the ground running is an understatement.
What separates QMS from the rest boils down to collagen, a protein found in our skin’s elasticity. Many skincare companies use marine collagen, or a synthetic type that promotes the skin’s promotion of collagen. QMS uses bovine. Marine collagen only has a 77 percent similar make-up to skin, while bovine boasts a whopping 97 percent. What inspired this unique take to skincare? Healing wounds, specifically burns.
The founder, Dr. Erich Schlute, worked as a trauma specialist and cosmetic surgery specialist before finding QMS. Motorcycle accidents and burns inspired him to work with collagen, which is a crucial ingredient for improving and accelerating the healing of the skin. His work inspired a kind of treatment and diagnosis based skincare, where all ingredients work together with the collagen for personalized results.
Using this special mindset, QMS has grown rapidly to an international standing. However, they are careful to never sacrifice quality for quantity, and this became very clear during their launch in the States, as well as the Q&A for the brand. They are starting online as well in 4 Seasons in Philadelphia, but many high-profile celebrities are already integrating QMS into their routines. One of them attended the launch: Tym Buachaern, the makeup artist for Black Panther, stated that he regularly uses QMS products on the likes of Lupita Nyong’o and Daniel Kaluuya.
Leading the charge into the States is Rowan Hall-Farrise, the trainer, facialist, and overall spokesperson for QMS Medicosmetics. She has been a part of the brand for four years now, and she integrates effortlessly into everything the brand stands for. Last time she was in the United States, she was doing facials using QMS products for the Grammys and Oscars, neither being small achievements. Her return to the USA marks a smaller approach, but no less important: training and education to introduce QMS into spas and retail stores.
She especially makes clear the five pillars of QMS ideology, along with CEO Mark Stanlein: again, treatment-driven, collagen-focused, personalization, German excellence standards, and immediate results. Just the description of the QMS Collagen System makes this incredibly clear: the Deep Gentle Cleanser with no mineral oil or unnecessary ingredients, the Hydrating Boost Toning Mist to prep for treatments, and Rowan’s personal favorite, the Power Firm Mask to restore and regulate. These products all work together for powerful results. Mark Stanlein says that it can take as few as three days to see results in your skin using their “hero” products.
QMS Mediosmetics will continue to find its way into the States, and hitting the red carpet is already a fierce start. It started its release August 1st, and will continue to do so throughout the year.
