You have become so successful on YouTube/social media in the beauty and fashion space. What’s next for you this upcoming year (2021)? Any thoughts on starting a beauty line?

“Thank you! I’m super excited for 2021, a lot of my projects got put on hold this last year which gave me time to reflect and renew my thoughts around my content in both beauty and fashion, so 2021 is going to be a huge year! I would love to start a beauty line one day but I have a huge project I’m launching in 2021, so a beauty line might be on the backburner for now!”

Share with us your favorite part of your career. How has it impacted you? What lessons have you learned?

“My favorite part is most definitely getting to meet my subscribers in person. It’s so crazy – it honestly feels like we’re friends anytime I meet a follower. It means so much to me that I can impact someone’s life with putting my life online. The moment that this really clicked for me was at a meetup in San Francisco. Someone came up to me and told me that their father had passed away from cancer that year and my videos were the only thing that got them through and put a smile on their face. I burst into tears – it was so touching and put into perspective why I do what I do.”

What is your favorite makeup trend from this year? When did you know you wanted to pursue a career in beauty?

“Definitely Liquid Blush! It’s the trend I always needed in my life. When I apply liquid blush I feel like I’ve come back to life! I’ve loved beauty ever since I can remember. I was a competitive figure skater growing up, and I remember begging my mom to put her red lipstick on me for my competitions! This was probably when I was 4 or 5 years old – so it’s safe to say I knew I loved beauty way back then and I’m so grateful to have a career that involves it now.”

Do you remember the first time you decided to make a YouTube channel? What are some challenges you faced when you first launched, and how did you overcome them?

“I’ll never forget the first video I made! I used my laptop webcam and I was sitting on the floor in my room and I turned a lamp sideways to light myself. I think the biggest thing when I first started was that I was so shy. I was shy in person but especially on camera so it was hard to be myself. I was so afraid of friends or people I knew in the figure skating world finding my videos and judging me for whatever reason. I had one friend who found a video of mine and asked if I had a YouTube channel – of course I tried to deny it at first. But she ended up being the most influential person at the start of my career because she really encouraged me to keep going with it and overcome my fears.”

What advice do you have for those who are wanting to start their own YouTube channel?

“Just do it! I know that sounds cliche but you just have to start posting about what you’re passionate about and stay consistent with it. If you put your heart and mind to it, anything is possible!”

What does your go-to makeup routine look like?

“I’ve been into more natural makeup lately so I’ve been doing foundation, concealer, liquid blush, brow gel, mascara and a little bit of lip pencil to overdraw the lips. I have a video on my current everyday makeup that I’ve been doing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o88EWsAW3pY

Is there a brand that you would love to partner with one day? What brand would be your dream partnership? and why?

“Dior is my ultimate dream brand to work with! I love their entire vibe and I love the combination of fashion and beauty that they portray. What a dream!”
